Tentative Schedule
Our day will include a recital by the MTSU horn studio, a performance by members of MTSU horn studio and the horn ensemble as well as masterclasses by Professor Angela DeBoer and our guest, Leander Star. We will also have a mass horn ensemble reading session and MORE!

Leander Star
Leander Star is the horn player with the award-winning wind quintet City of Tomorrow and holds tenured positions with the Oregon Ballet Theater Orchestra and the Portland Opera Orchestra. Locally, he plays regularly with the IRIS Orchestra, the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, and the PRIZM Chamber Orchestra. Star has also performed with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago under Maestros Riccardo Muti and Esa Pekka Salonen, Gruppo Montebello (the faculty chamber orchestra at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Alberta, Canada), the Oregon Symphony, Boise Philharmonic, and New Mexico Symphony, as well as new music ensembles in Chicago and Portland including Dal Niente and Fear No Music. Star teaches horn at the University of Mississippi at Oxford and Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee and received his education at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the Northwestern University Bienen School of Music.
